We work as one coordinated practice rather than a chain of single-scope vendors, which means fewer handoffs, less risk, and single-source accountability on complex, steel-intensive projects. What began in 2014 as a one-person storage company is now a diversified steel group grounded in Alberta — more than 150 people, over 91,000 square feet of operating facilities, and 15 million pounds of annual steel capacity. Esmail Soleymani is the Founder and CEO of Cenmax Group, an industrial engineer with more than 30 years in steel manufacturing and automated warehouse systems (AS/RS). He began in the Middle East, spending 11 years in automated storage systems manufacturing, then eight years in senior operations management in Canada, before founding Trimet Storage Solutions, Solico Metal and Metco Installation and bringing them together as Cenmax.
His focus is building the industrial base Western Canada needs as it grows. He buys for value and reinvests earnings into machinery, automated laser cutting and fabrication assets, building a platform of 91,000+ sq. ft. of manufacturing space and 150+ people around one integrated steel ecosystem, from design and fabrication to coating and installation. A certified pallet racking inspector, he brings an inspector’s eye to quality and safety across the group.
Sohrab Semnani is Vice President of Cenmax Group. A licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.), Project Management Professional (PMP) and LEED AP, he has delivered more than $1 billion in construction volume, including a decade at Axiom Builders managing high-rise residential towers, multi-family developments, commercial projects and heavy structural frameworks across Western Canada.
At Cenmax, Sohrab holds executive oversight of project delivery and P&L performance across the group. He sets the group’s schedule-first approach: time is treated as the primary risk, so project sequences are locked early and exposure is managed before it reaches cost. He holds cost control and scheduling to the same discipline, and keeps a single line of sight on every project, from engineering and subtrade procurement through shop drawings, structural erection and delivery.
