Solico Metal, a Cenmax Group company, has begun installing two new laser cutting machines at its Calgary fabrication shop: a laser sheet cutter and a 3D tube laser.
The sheet cutter adds material processing capacity. The 3D tube laser lets Solico cut more complex shapes, profiles and details in tube and section, work that previously took more handling or outside processing.
What installation involves
Bringing new cutting equipment into a working shop takes more than delivery and power-up. The installation plan covers workspace preparation, electrical work, safety review, equipment coordination, operator training and testing, so production can continue while the new machines are commissioned.
Why it matters
Cutting in-house gives Solico closer control over precision and consistency, reduces material waste and shortens the time between detailing and fabrication. The investment is one part of Cenmax Group's ongoing commitment to shop capability across its operating companies.
