Solico Metal, a Cenmax Group company, has been awarded the structural and miscellaneous steel scope for Belvedere Market, a new commercial retail development in East Calgary.
The development includes multiple commercial retail units, about 15 minutes from downtown Calgary. Solico will provide steel fabrication and installation, with detailing and fabrication carried out within the group.
Belvedere Market also marks the start of a new working relationship with general contractor Keller Construction Ltd.
Delivering the steel package
Retail developments run on tight schedules, with tenant fit-outs following closely behind the structure. Solico's scope covers the structural frame, including columns, joists and bracing, along with the miscellaneous steel that completes the buildings. Coordinating detailing, fabrication and erection under one plan helps keep the steel package on schedule.
